The "correct" way to cross-stitch?
Ok, so I've been cross-stitching for more than 10 years. However, when I first learned to do it, it wasn't according to technique or whatever. Mind you I've completed many projects which look very good.
My question is that I recently remarked that specialist magazines showed that the "correct" way to make a cross stitch was:
- Bottom left hole to top right hole; then
- Bottom right hole to top left hole
The way I have always done it - and I can't imagine doing it another way - is:
- Top left hole to bottom right hole; then
- Top right hole to bottom left hole!!!
I am right handed for the reference. I wonder if die-hards cross-stitchers would frown upon my way of doing it. I believe that as long as I keep the same stitch everywhere it makes no difference... but correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks!

It really should not matter too much but the top stitches have to be in same direction everywhere in your item. At least it does not make any difference to thread consumption.
A left-handed x-stitcher.
